Thermotar residential horizontal packaged units are designed for direct expansion (DX) systems and residential applications that require a complete, compact, and reliable air conditioning solution.
Their horizontal configuration integrates the main refrigeration, evaporation, condensation, and ventilation components into a single unit. As a result, installation and connection to the home’s ductwork system are simplified.
Supply and return air connections are arranged horizontally, allowing the unit to adapt to different duct configurations and specific installation requirements.
Additionally, these units are available in multiple capacities, electrical configurations, and refrigerant options to meet the requirements of each application.
Cabinet Features
The cabinet is manufactured from pre-painted galvanized steel to provide mechanical strength, durability, and corrosion protection.
Its compact construction also provides convenient access to internal components for inspection and service while maintaining a configuration suitable for residential applications.
Furthermore, the horizontal arrangement of the different sections allows efficient component integration and simplifies connection to the home’s air distribution system.
Ventilation System
The evaporator section incorporates a centrifugal blower selected to provide the airflow and static pressure required for the application.
Depending on the project requirements, the ventilation system is configured according to unit capacity, required airflow, external static pressure, and installation conditions.
Meanwhile, the condensing section uses axial fans to move the required airflow across the condenser coil and ensure proper heat rejection to the outdoors.
Compressors
Thermotar residential horizontal packaged units are available with Scroll compressors selected according to unit capacity and the specified refrigerant.
Therefore, the refrigeration system provides reliable and efficient operation for residential air conditioning applications.
Evaporator and Condenser Coils
The units are equipped with Thermocoil® coils manufactured with copper tubes and aluminum fins for efficient heat transfer and reliable performance.
During operation, the evaporator coil cools and dehumidifies the air. Meanwhile, the condenser coil rejects the heat removed from the conditioned space to the outdoors.
For added corrosion protection, optional copper tube/copper fin configurations and anti-corrosion coatings are available for coastal areas and highly corrosive environments.
Filtration System
The evaporator section can incorporate air filters selected according to the indoor air quality requirements of each application.
Additionally, the filters are positioned for convenient access during inspection, cleaning, or replacement.
Available Refrigerants
Configurations are available for R-410A, R-32, R-454B, and R-290, depending on unit capacity and the technical and regulatory requirements of each application.
