General Features
Thermotar commercial horizontal chilled water air handlers are designed for chilled water systems. They are ideal for commercial and industrial applications that require high capacity, flexibility, and reliable airflow control.
Their horizontal configuration makes efficient use of spaces with limited height. It also facilitates installation in mechanical rooms, mezzanines, and other areas with vertical space restrictions.
The units are available in different capacities and configurations. They can also incorporate direct drive, belt drive, or Plug Fan technology according to the requirements of each project.
Cabinet Features
The cabinet is manufactured from pre-painted galvanized steel, providing mechanical strength and corrosion protection.
Its horizontal design facilitates access to internal components. As a result, inspection, cleaning, and service procedures can be performed more easily.
The unit construction can also be adapted to the specific conditions of each installation.
Ventilation System
The ventilation system can incorporate direct drive, belt drive, or Plug Fan technology.
Each option is selected according to the required airflow, external static pressure, and project operating conditions.
This allows the system to provide proper air distribution while helping optimize unit performance and energy efficiency.
Chilled Water Coil
The units incorporate Thermocoil® coils manufactured with copper tubes and aluminum fins. This construction provides efficient heat transfer between the chilled water and the airflow.
Each coil is selected according to the project design conditions. These include entering and leaving water temperatures, water flow rate, air temperature and humidity, required capacity, and pressure drop.
Different row, circuiting, and dimensional configurations are also available, allowing the coil to be adapted to the specific requirements of each system.
Available Configurations
Commercial horizontal air handlers can be adapted to different chilled water systems and operating conditions.
For example, they can be configured for cooling-only applications. Additional heating coils can also be incorporated when required by the project.
Each unit is ultimately selected according to the required airflow, static pressure, thermal capacity, water temperatures, and project psychrometric conditions.
