General Features
The Thermotar Commercial Vertical Air Handler is designed for direct expansion (DX) systems and commercial HVAC applications that require high capacity, installation flexibility, and reliable airflow control.
Its vertical configuration helps optimize available mechanical room space while allowing the unit to accommodate different airflow and external static pressure requirements. This design makes it suitable for a wide range of commercial, institutional, and industrial air-conditioning applications.
Available from 7.5 to 60 tons, with configurations from 1 to 4 independent refrigeration circuits and multiple ventilation options, including direct drive, belt drive, and Plug Fan technology.
Commercial Vertical Air Handler Construction
The cabinet is manufactured from pre-painted galvanized steel, providing mechanical strength, durability, and corrosion protection.
Its vertical construction allows the different internal sections to be efficiently arranged while providing convenient access to the main components for inspection and service.
Different cabinet and discharge configurations can be selected according to the installation requirements and available space of each project.
Ventilation System
The ventilation system is selected according to the required airflow and external static pressure.
Available configurations include direct-drive blowers, belt-driven blowers, and Plug Fans, allowing the Commercial Vertical Air Handler to be adapted to different ductwork systems and operating conditions.
Motor capacity and ventilation components are selected according to the specific airflow requirements of each application.
Direct Expansion Coil
Thermocoil® evaporator coils are manufactured with copper tubes and aluminum fins to provide efficient heat transfer and reliable cooling performance.
The DX coil can be configured with 1 to 4 independent refrigeration circuits, depending on the required capacity and system configuration.
Coil selection is based on cooling capacity, entering air conditions, airflow, refrigerant type, and the operating requirements of the project.
Optional Coil Protection
For applications exposed to highly corrosive or coastal environments, the coils can optionally be manufactured with a copper/copper configuration or supplied with Luvata anti-corrosion coating.
These options provide additional protection for HVAC systems operating under demanding environmental conditions.
Available Refrigerants
Configurations are available for R-410A, R-32, R-454B, and R-290, depending on unit capacity and the technical, safety, and regulatory requirements of each project.
